Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg arrived in Lagos yesterday 30 August, 2016 on a 2-day visit. The social media icon is here in Nigeria to testify to huge turnout of Nigerians on the facebook and to see how FB can support techno-development in Africa.
The world's 7th richest man quietly came into Nigeria as his first visit to Sub-Saharan Africa to learn about the startup eco-system in Nigeria, the FB’s largest African market. 

He branched at Co-Creation Hub (CC Hub) in Yaba, Lagos.

Warm Reception for Nigeria U-23 on Arrival

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the ministry of youth and sports have concluded plans to give Nigeria U-23 (Dream Team VI) a suitable welcome on their arrival to Nigeria from Brazil.

Dream Team VI defeated Honduras 3-2 to win the 2016 Olympics men’s football bronze medal in Belo Horizonte on Saturday 20 August, 2016.

Japanese Millionaire Gives Nigeria U-23 $390k for Winning Bronze in Rio 2016

The Japanese multi-millionaire Dr Katsuya Takasu, who promised Coach Samson Siasia and his boys a huge amount of money has fulfilled immediately after the match.


The Japanese plastic surgeon promised to give $390,000 to Nigeria "Dream Team" if they win Gold, Silver or Bronze at the men’s football event of the Rio Olympics.

Nigeria U-23 Wins Bronze Defeats Honduras 3 - 2 @ Rio 2016

Nigeria U-23 took on Honduras U23 in the third place final of the Rio Olympics men's football event in Belo Horizonte with 3 – 2 win  to entitle Bronze medal for Nigeria.

The first goal came through Sadiq Umar who converted an accurate pass from the team captain Mikel Obi to the left of Honduras goal keeper Luis Lopez.

Nigeria U-23 Proceeds to Quarter-finals Beat Sweden 1- 0 @ Rio 2016

Nigeria’s U-23 team progressed to the quarter-finals on Sunday 7th July, 2016 at the Men's Olympic Football Tournament Rio 2016 after a 1-0 victory over Sweden in Group B courtesy of a Sadiq Umar header at the Amazonia Arena in Manaus.
For a large part of the match both sides were playing conservatively but Nigeria certainly looked the most threatening in attack.

Legendary Nollywood Actress, Bukky Ajayi, Passes On

The ace and veteran Nollywood actress, Mama Bukky Ajayi joined her ancestral. The renowned actress died early this morning, 6th July, 2016. She made her last public appearance at the 2016 AMVCA in March, where she won the AMVCA Merit Award. She was 82 years old. May her gentle soul rest in peace and join her peers in Jannah Firdaoz. Ameen.

Nollywood Actor, Afeez Oyetoro, Solicits for Mother tongue in Teaching

The Nollywood actor and the Head of Department, Theatre Arts, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos, Mr Afeez Oyetoro (a.k.a. saka) on Saturday 2nd July, 2016 canvassed for adoption of mother tongue as a teaching medium in primary and secondary schools.
Oyetoro addressed media in Lagos, that if pupils and students were taught in their mother tongue, it would help them understand the subject more easily.

US Fire Service Responds to a Sango Fire & Smoke Display During Ooni of Ife’s Visit to Washington DC Museum

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, his wife Olori Wuraola and members of his entourage visited the Smithsonian Museum of African Art, in Washington DC on Tuesday, June 21st.
During the visit, Sango worshipers on his delegation performed a traditional rite that involved fire and smoke display.

I Never Ordered Use of Hijab In Schools: Gov. Aregbesola

The Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, on Monday denied ordering the use of Hijab by female Muslim students in public schools in the state.
Aregbesola said this during a roundtable organised by the Development and Advancement in Western Nigeria (DAWN) in Osogbo, the state capital.
He challenged those who accused him of ordering the use of Hijab by Muslims to substantiate their claims.

Popular Nollywood Actor, Abdul-Lateef Titilope Ashimiyu known as Itakure passed-on on Saturday. The talented actor, known for playing the role of a Muslim cleric died after two days of sickness. He is said to have complained of fever before he was taken to the hospital where he died days after.

Obama’s Award Awaits Ooni of Ife, June 13 declared Yoruba Day in NYC

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, left for the United States on Wednesday 8th June, 2016 and was on Friday hosted by the indigenes of Ile-Ife, Osun State, resident in the United States.
The monarch, with his entourage, was received at the J.F. Kennedy Airport, New York, by leaders of Ife indigenes and other Nigerians in the US on Thursday.
A New York City Senator, Kevin Parker, and the Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams, said the city had secured a proclamation to declare Monday, June 13, 2016 as Yoruba Day.
They said the action was to honour the monarch.
The statement added that a number of programmes had been scheduled to honour the traditional ruler while in the country.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, was honoured along with his wife in New Jersey on Sunday, 12 June, 2016 during his visit to the United States of America (USA). The Ooni was presented with the key to the City of Summerset, Franklin Township New Jersey, and honoured with the proclamation of the town of Franklin in a ceremony on Sunday.
Taking place in New York, the handing over of the key was performed by the Honourable Mayor Philip Kramer, while being witnessed by several American dignitaries.

Former Nigerian Coach Amodu Dies at 58

The Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amodu Shuaibu, died at the age of 58, four days after the death of a former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi.
The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Kassim Afegbua, confirmed the death of former Nigerian veteran coach Amodu Shuaibu, on 11th June, 2016.
The Commissioner, Kassim Afegbua, who incidentally is a relative of the late Shuaibu, revealed to the media at the Stella Obasanjo hospital, where his corpse was deposited,
