The Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka Celebrates 82

The Nigerian playwright and poet, and Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, adds a year today, 13th July, 2016. With this, the first African to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 clocks 82. Happy Birthday, the African Pride Prof!

Legendary Nollywood Actress, Bukky Ajayi, Passes On

The ace and veteran Nollywood actress, Mama Bukky Ajayi joined her ancestral. The renowned actress died early this morning, 6th July, 2016. She made her last public appearance at the 2016 AMVCA in March, where she won the AMVCA Merit Award. She was 82 years old. May her gentle soul rest in peace and join her peers in Jannah Firdaoz. Ameen.

Nollywood Actor, Afeez Oyetoro, Solicits for Mother tongue in Teaching

The Nollywood actor and the Head of Department, Theatre Arts, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos, Mr Afeez Oyetoro (a.k.a. saka) on Saturday 2nd July, 2016 canvassed for adoption of mother tongue as a teaching medium in primary and secondary schools.
Oyetoro addressed media in Lagos, that if pupils and students were taught in their mother tongue, it would help them understand the subject more easily.
