PLATIMA’AM ANNIVERSARY: The Queen and Prince Philip Celebrate 70th Wedding Anniversary with New Photograph

The Queen and Prince Philip officially celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday, 20th November, 2017, with a new photograph. The couple married in 1947.

The Queen wore a cream day dress with a ‘Scarab’ yellow gold brooch which was a personal gift from the Duke of Edinburgh in 1966. The Duke of Edinburgh looked handsome in a smart three-piece suit. The Queen beamed in a cream day dress by Angela Kelly which was finished off with a ‘Scarab’ yellow gold brooch – a personal gift from the prince to the Queen in 1966.
Matt Holyoak, who took the picture, said: “I feel very honoured and privileged to have been asked to contribute to this very special occasion.”
"My vision for the image was to capture an intimate and natural portrait of the Queen and Duke to celebrate their landmark anniversary.”
“The Queen and the Duke were very happy and relaxed which made it a pleasure. I feel the images showcase their strength and unity.”
