Celebration of Life Service of Soun of Ogbomosoland, Late Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III

Life service celebration of late Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi kicked off in Ogbomoso on 22 Jan 22, at the Palace of Soun Ogbomoso.

Members of the Soun of Ogbomoso Royal family (including sons and daughters), home and abroad were prompted at the celebration.

The monarch died early Sunday morning of 12 December 2021, at the age of 95 after span of 47 years on the throne. The ceremony was graced by the incumbent Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde as befitting respect for one of the colossal kings of Yorubaland, Oyo State per se.

In attendance with the Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde at the venue of the life service celebration of the King was the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Akin Dare who was exchanging pleasantries with the Governor.


Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III ascended the throne on 24 October 1973. He reigned from 1973 – 2021, before joining his ancestral.
