A Popular Nollywood Actor Arakangudu Passes Away

A popular Nollywood Actor, Sikiru Adeshina (a.k.a Arakangudu) died in the night of Monday, 8th February, 2016. It was though in between Monday night and Tuesday morning when the deceased had his last breath, the able and enthusiastic actor died as a result of cardiac arrest in Kaduna where he was undergoing a course.
The bully actor mainly practiced his acting in the traditional Yoruba genre of Nollywood, perfect in portraying herbalists and armed robbers. As a movie producer, he had to his credit many award-winning movies, such as: Aje Olokun, Agba Osugbo, Ilu Gangan, Iya Oko Bournvita, Ogbologbo, etc. He was also a movie director and directed a couple of movies.
Arakangudu had gone off the scene for some years after suffering from an undisclosed ailment that made him abandon his Lagos base and relocate to Oshogbo, his home town. He later made a return to acting in 2015 with his role as a Chief in the palace in a recent movie, Ayaba Oosa.
Arakangudu was expected to be buried yesterday, Tuesday according to Islamic rite of burial but his close associate confirmed the late actor’s death in Kaduna said he could not be buried on the same day because of the distance between Kaduna and Oshogbo. Hence, late Sikiru Adeshina Arakangudu wil be buried today Wednesday, February 10.
On the place where he will be buried, the close associate said the family, according to the ongoing discussion, is between two choices of his home town, Oshogbo and Lagos where he built a house. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
