Gombe State: N58 Million As Christmas Gift To Christians

Christians in four Local Governments in Gombe State have been given charity of N58 million to enable them celebrate Christmas as announced by the Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, in Kaltungo on Saturday. 

The areas included are predominantly populated Christians of Balanga, Billiri, Kaltungo and Shongom local governments which constitute Gombe South Senatorial District. 

The governor, during his tour of senatorial districts in the state, did not only donated to the South but also said that party officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other stakeholders in the area were beneficiaries of the largesse for the Yuletide. 

Government’s plans to permit chairmen to recruit 20 youths in each of the 11 local government areas of the state next year for empowerment were disclosed while many other persons in the state were given appointments as aides, promising that more appointments were being worked out for others to benefit. 

The Governor said the recent North East Economic Summit, which the state hosted, had started yielding dividends as the Federal Government had declared intention to assist in implementing some of the summit’s recommendations and some foreign investors had declared interest in investing in the state, adding that when that was done; many job opportunities would be created in the state. 

He called on the people of the state to ensure peace and harmony among themselves for government to provide them with democratic dividends. 

The governor also attended the wedding ceremony of Samuel, son to former Deputy Governor of Gombe state, John Yoriyo, where he donated a car to the couple. 

Among personalities accompanied the Governor on the tour were Senator representing Gombe South, Joshua Lidani, and the representative from Balanga/Billiri Constituency, Manu Swa.
