As soon as the remains of the late
Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola-Alao arrive in
Nigeria today from London, he will be buried at 9.00 a.m.
The
Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr Festus Adedayo issued the
statement in Ibadan yesterday.
His body
is expected to arrive at the airport today, after which it will be moved to
the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, where prayers will be
held. It was also stated that Alhaji Arisekola-Alao’s remains would be buried beside
his mother’s grave at his Oluwo Kekere residence, Bashorun Area, Ibadan.
The
site, which was rightly behind the main building was agreed upon by the burial
committee in order to abide by the wish of the departed soul. It was learnt that Alhaji Arisekola-Alao
personally chose the place for his burial.
Expected
at the burial of the philanthropist are dignitaries from all walks of life, top
government officials, representatives of the Federal Government and other state
governments, religious leaders, politicians, captains of industry, Muslims and
the ordinary folks for whom he lived and died.
The statement added
that all arrangements had been put in place to give him a befitting burial.
