The family of the erstwhile NAFDAC boss has announced
that the former minister of Information and Communications, Professor Dora
Akunyili, will be buried on August 28, 2014.
“Details about the funeral arrangements will be made
available to the public in due course,” her husband, Dr Chike Akunyili, said in
a statement issued in Awka, Anambra State, on Sunday.
The husband thanked Nigerians for the love they
extended to his beloved wife, both in life and at death.
The widower also expressed the appreciation of the
family to President Goodluck Jonathan for the special valedictory session of
the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held in honour of the deceased.
The
deceased, a delegate to the ongoing national conference in Abuja, was said to have
turned 60 on July 14.
