The Oyo
State Governor Abiola Ajimobi signed on Friday the 2014 Appropriation Bill of
N208.38 billion into law.
Although
the Governor presented a bill of N188.84 billion to the House of Assembly on 19
December 2013, the assembly increased the budget size to N208. 38billion.
Presenting
the bill to the governor for approval, the Speaker, Honourable Monsurat
Sunmonu, said that members of the assembly identified with the works and
leadership of the governor.
“This is
why the House has been performing its legislative functions to complement and
sustain the developmental efforts of the governor.
“In
consideration of the appropriation bill, the House interacted with the various
government ministries, departments, agencies and commissions.
“This is
to ensure that the projects in the draft budgets are in line with the
transformation agenda of the government,” she said.
