Nollywood actress and producer, Adebimpe Amoke Akintunde (a.k.a Bimpe
Omotodun) in an interview with Tribune, speaks on her acting career, latest
movie entitled 'WASILAT CODED', as well as her fashion preferences and marital status.
Excerpts:
My
career
I
really love my acting career. I am an entertainer in all ramifications. Acting
is in my blood, it is inbuilt. I can say I join the industry because I have
passion for acting and also because of the glamour attached to it because when
you are acting, you are showcasing yourself to the world so, you have to look
your best.
When you are hard-working, you will become famous but there is no
money in our industry. I act because I love it and not because there is money
in it. If you want to make money as an actor or actress, you have to go into
other things like doing Television commercials, compere and if luck is on one’s
side, a big company can sign you on as an ambassador. Personally, I present and
anchor events. I do presentation both on radio and television; I am also into
events planning.
He
is my boss and someone I respect and cherish so much. I can even call him my
father. It is not true that we are dating. Some people had said it to my face
that I am having an affair with him but I believe that misconception was as a
result of our closeness. Murphy Afolabi is just a very good boss. I
have never dated anyone in the industry.
My
marital status
I
am in a relationship but I am not yet engaged. I have made it clear to my man
that whatever he sees on the screen is make believe. Any man who wants to date
or marry an actress must be very understanding because we are always in the
spotlight and we deal with many men in our chosen career.
I
pray and hope that before or by the end of this year GOD willing, I will get
married because one is not getting younger.
Valentine
Funny
enough, I will be on set working but that doesn’t mean I won’t show love to my
loved ones. I will however be free the day after Valentine’s Day so I will go
out after that day.
Lifestyles
of Nigerian actresses
I
disagree with what people are saying that most Nigerian actresses are into
runs. That is not true at all because most of us are married with kids so, how
can a married woman go about doing runs? And we, the single ones, are
cultured. As a well brought up Yoruba lady, one shouldn’t be throwing
one’s self at men because we want to make money. Anyway, I do tell people that
I am not a saint but I think I am kind of different from the rest.
If
I were to marry one of my colleagues
It
will be ADEKOLA TIJANI (Kamilu Kompo), I love his kind of person.
Looking
good
My
sister, looking good is serious business. Talking seriously, sleep
comes first. When I sleep very well, I look so good and I also do water
therapy.
I
take water first thing in the morning and I do facials, manicure
and pedicure as well as general body treatment in order to maintain good
skin. I also stay off harsh creams. I use beauty products that are recommended
by my cosmetologist. As for make-up, I am a very natural person, my outing
determines the kind of make-up that I will use but I prefer simple and perfect
make-up all the time.
Shoes
and bags
Ha!
I can’t count my shoes and bags. Those are our instruments (Awon irinse Wa
niyen).
On
scandals
Scandal!
Not really, it was just the rumour of the affair between me and Murphy
Afolabi. Because of our closeness, even a few colleagues and our
marketers even say it to my face. Our fans too are saying that we are dating. I
just smiled and take my time to explain to them that there is nothing between
us. He is my boss and nothing more.

Advice
for women on how to stay young and beautiful
If
you really want to remain young and beautiful, you have to run away from
thinking too much and you must do what makes you happy always because when you
are happy, you will smile and when you do, you will look more beautiful.

I
am still single but will settle down soon.
Coping

Most
of them end up being my friends. I know how to handle them without being rude.
My
kind of man
A
man who is religious, kind-hearted and understanding will win my heart.
Greatest
physical asset
My

Pains
and gains of being a celebrity
The pain is that you are easily noticed. When
you go out, people will stare at you, they will even shout your name while some
of them will want to touch you. And the gain is that being a celebrity opens a
lot of doors for you. For instance, I don’t queue in a bank any more.
