In order to commemorate the
Eid-el-Malulud Muslim celebration, the Federal Government has declared Tuesday,
January 14, 2014 as a public holiday.
The declaration was made by the
Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro on behalf of the Federal Government in
a statement signed Thursday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,
Mrs. Fatima Bamidele.
The Minister enjoined all Muslims and
Nigerians in general to support, co-operate and join hands with President
Goodluck Jonathan, in his sustained effort to build peaceful, united and virile
nation.
Moro while wishing Nigerians a happy
Eid-el-maulud celebration, he further urged all Nigerians to use the occasion
to pray for peace across the nation.
"This is to further urge Nigerians
to use the occasion to pray for peace across the nation, while wishing all
Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Malud Celebration", he said.
